'It’s perfect' - Stuart McCall raves about Rangers done deal

Former Rangers player and manager Stuart McCall has revealed what he thinks Jamie Murphy will bring to the Gers and admitted it the timing was “perfect for him” to join his boyhood heroes.
Murphy agreed a season-long loan deal with the Ibrox giants and is expected to turn it into a permanent move in the summer.
After arriving in Glasgow on Thursday for a medical, Murphy’s move was eventually confirmed in the early hours of Sunday morning and the winger will now fly out and join his new team-mates at their winter training camp in Florida.
McCall managed Murphy at Motherwell before selling the winger to Sheffield United in 2013 and knows first-hand what the attacker can bring to Ibrox.
“With the experience he’s had it’s perfect for him, he couldn’t have plotted a better career path to this point,” McCall said, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“Jamie could give Rangers a real boost.
“I remember the first session we took and I watched his finishing, I thought, ‘Wow, great quality.’ He stood out.
“We played him up top with John Sutton because he was quick and could finish. He was always
listening and learning.”
Murphy made over 200 appearances for the Steelmen before heading south to sign for Sheffield United.
The 28-year-old is likely to make his competitive Rangers debut against Highland League minnows Fraserburgh in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on January 21st but could be involved when the Gers face Corinthians and Atletico Mineiro in the Florida Cup.
Murphy was a key part of Brighton’s promotion push last season but struggled for regular game time after the Seagulls won promotion to the Premier League for the first time.
After only four league appearances this season. Murphy will now be hoping to feature regularly for his boyhood heroes over the second-half of the Scottish Premiership season.
In latest Rangers news, Gers fans have blasted the Ibrox board for their handling of Murphy’s transfer.
