West Ham fans have reacted with frustration on Twitter after Wilfried Bony joined Stoke on a season-long loan.
The Ivory Coast striker was a summer target for Slaven Bilic and despite securing the services of Simone Zaza on loan, fans hoped they would still be interested in the Man City striker.
Bony joined City for £28million from Swansea in January 2015 but has scored just six Premier League goals in that time.

Bony’s move to Stoke comes after his path to the first team has been blocked by star player Sergio Aguero, and with three years left on his contract Man City have opted to send him out on loan.
The striker has genuine Premier League pedigree after scoring 35 goals in all competitions during 70 encounters for Swansea before moving to City.
West Ham have a striker shortage with Andre Ayew and Andy Carroll out injured, and their fans were clearly hoping to have more attacking options after the transfer window.
Not moving for Bony or Remy on loan is a stinker unless we've got something else lined up last minute 👀

Not sure why everyone is still banging on about Bony, Zaza was a target for Slav and G&S and now we have him! Proven goalscorer! #COYI

I reckon it was Bony or Zaza. We chose Zaza so Bony obviously wasn't required anymore #COYI

In other West Ham transfer news, they are approached by their London rivals about a last-minute bid for this 28-year-old international.
