Fuchs could sign for Rangers after source’s transfer update – Hutton
Alan Hutton has suggested Jeando Fuchs may push to quit Dundee United if Celtic or Rangers come calling in January.
The former Gers defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted it was no surprise to hear the Old Firm duo are interested in the 24-year-old after his “excellent” performances at Tannadice.
A recruitment source told Football Insider on Sunday (26 December) Dundee United are ready to reject all offers for Fuchs in January.
The midfielder is out of contract next summer and both Rangers and Celtic have been credited with an interest in his capture.
Hutton suggested the player may want to challenge himself and push for a move if either club make an approach next month.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I think he’s a very talented footballer. He’s doing well in that Dundee United team.
“It doesn’t surprise me when these players have popped up throughout the years, even when I was back playing at Rangers, Rangers and Celtic snapped on them really quickly to get a good deal.
“I understand both sides. Dundee United want to keep their main players to try and progress and do well. However, it’s difficult to turn down the Old Firm.
“The thing for the player is whether he is going to get the game time he wants. That’s the thing you’ve got to ask yourself.
“Of course, you want to back yourself and think you’re good enough to do so. But thinking it and doing it is two different things.
“It’s an interesting one. I think he has had an excellent season so far. It doesn’t surprise me that both of these teams are looking at him.”

A defensive midfielder, Fuchs has played 46 times for Dundee United to date.
The two-cap Cameroon international is yet to score since moving to Scotland.
In other news, Frank McAvennie claims one Celtic player “out of his depth” and should be nowhere near starting XI.
