Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz reacts to Joao Gomes amid Leeds links

Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz is facing an uncertain future at Craven Cottage and he has reacted to Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes’ latest post.

The Brazilian is the subject of interest from Premier League newcomers Leeds United, as Daniel Farke looks for a striker to bolster his attack.

Fulham though are currently fending off advances from the Yorkshire side as they look to keep the striker in London.

Muniz joined the Cottagers in 2021 from Flamengo and has competed with Mexican Raul Jimenez to be the club’s first-choice striker.

Gomes message sparks Muniz reaction

Fellow Brazilian Gomes took to Instagram to celebrate his partner’s birthday with an emotional message, which was liked by Muniz.

Gomes appeared 40 times for Wolves last season, scoring four goals as Vitor Pereira’s side fended off relegation after a poor start under Gary O’Neil.

His performances at Molineux earned him the Wolves Supporters’ Player of the Season award.

Fulham one step away from being European challengers

Muniz has proved to be a capable option for Marco Silva to turn to for goals, and he wants to continue aiding the 24-year-olds development in the future.

Leeds‘ interest though doesn’t look to be going away and the Whites need a goal scorer upon their Premier League return.

Muniz’s record at Fulham in all competitions since joining the club in 2021

Farke has not been afraid to open the chequebook so far this summer, already adding four players to his promotion winning squad.

Muniz would become a regular starter at Elland Road, whilst he is competing against Jimenez at Craven Cottage, who netted 14 goals in all competitions last season.

Fulham could cash in from a sale to strengthen their squad which was not far away from pushing for a Europa Conference League spot last season.

The West London club finished 11th in the Premier table, nine points off seventh placed Nottingham Forest.

Silva just needs to sort out the inconsistencies in his side and they could prove to be a surprise package next season.

The Portuguese manager has already lined up free agent Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a potential Muniz replacement.

The 28-year-old has also attracted interest from Manchester United, as he searches for a new club after his nine year spell at Everton came to an end.
