James Forrest’s future at Celtic could be under threat with the Hoops’ planning to make big changes in the summer.
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that the Hoops are set to move for a right-back, a striker, and a right-sided winger in the summer, and the last of these could cause concern for the 26-year-old.
Forrest has been in sensational form for the Hoops’s first-team this season, scoring 16 goals and he is undeniably of the potential winners of the Scottish Player of the Year award.
But the Parkhead star has played most prominently on the right-wing this season, and if Brendan Rodgers is serious about bringing in another winger on that side it could have a massive impact on Forrest’s career.
The move could see Forrest shifted to the left-side, were he hasn’t been as effective in the past.
It would be an odd bit of business from Rodgers to bring in another right-sided player, but he must feel that is a position in the squad which needs strengthened, and it also means that Patrick Roberts is set to return to Manchester City in the summer.
Hopefully Forrest will continue to thrive for the Hoops in whatever position he plays for the Hoops, but if it was up to the player himself he would surely prefer to keep to the right-wing, which has brought him huge success this season.
