Gabby Agbonlahor sends message to Aston Villa fans after second city triumph
By Amir Mir
Gabby Agbonlahor has told Aston Villa fans that scoring the winning against Birmingham in front of the Holte End is “what dreams are made of”.
The 30-year-old came off the substitutes bench on Sunday afternoon to score the only goal of the game as Villa beat their second city rivals 1-0 at Villa Park.
It means Agbonlahor, who scored his first goal since the 2-0 win against Norwich in the Premier League in 2016, has now scored five goals in nine matches against the Blues.
Steve Bruce opted to bring the boyhood Villa fan off the bench midway through the second half as his presence changed what was a dire game.
After the match, Agbonlahor sent this passionate message to supporters after winning the bragging rights for the club during the second city triumph.

It has been an up and down season for Agbonlahor, who was not in the club’s first team plans at the start of the campaign.
Bruce’s predecessor, Roberto Di Matteo left the Villa man out in the cold, but he was swiftly brought back in by Bruce when he arrived in October.
Nonetheless, the win at the weekend could have huge bearings on which division Birmingham are playing in next term following their costly defeat at the hands of their rivals.
Following the sacking of Gary Rowett in December, they have won only two matches under Gianfranco Zola and now under the recently-appointed Harry Redknapp.
In other Aston Villa news, Harry Redknapp has delivered a scathing verdict on the club and hit out at this attacker.
