Garry Monk posts Twitter message ahead of Leeds clash with Preston

Garry Monk has urged Leeds to continue working hard ahead of their Boxing Day clash against Preston North End at Deepdale.

The Whites take on Simon Grayson’s side having won 21 points from a possible 27, as they aim to continue that winning run.

During that period, Monk has guided his side to wins against fellow promotion chasers Reading and recently-relegated Aston Villa.

But, they suffered two defeats against the top two teams in the Championship table, losing on home soil to Newcastle, before being beaten away at Brighton.

Ahead of the busy festive schedule, Monk had this message for his supporters as posted on his personal Twitter account.

Former Swansea manager Monk joined the Yorkshire club in the summer, where he has become an instant success because the manner in which he has guided them to promotion hopefuls.

His summer signings have played a huge part in that success, whether it be on loan or a permanent deals, the likes of Pontus Jansson, Kyle Bartley and Luke Ayling have been big hits at Elland Road.

Additionally, the former centre-back has also given first team opportunities to academy products such as Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips.

All of this has resulted in the Whites sitting in fifth place on 38 points from 22 games.

Striker, Chris Wood has been delivering the end product this season, scoring 11 goals in 21 games.

In other Leeds news, captain Liam Bridcutt has made a bold claim ahead of the busy festive period.
