Garry Monk posts Twitter message ahead of Leeds clash against Nottingham Forest

By Amir Mir

Garry Monk has urged Leeds to “keep pushing” when they take on Nottingham Forest at Elland Road on Wednesday night.

The Whites will be looking to bounce back from their 3-2 weekend defeat to Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.

They are currently in the midst of a promotional battle and three points in midweek will be crucial to them maintaining a top six spot.

Reading beat Fulham 1-0 on Tuesday night as the Royals leapfrogged their rivals in the Championship table.

A positive result against a struggling Forest side on home soil could see them reclaim third place.

Here is what Monk had to say to supporters ahead of the mouth-watering encounter against Forest as posted on his personal Twitter account.

Midlands giants Forest are currently without a manager, with Gary Brazil taking responsibility of first team duties.

Nonetheless, they still managed to claim a vital win in their battle for relegation at the weekend when they beat fellow strugglers Bristol City 1-0 at the City Ground.

Forest were victorious during the reverse fixture in August, with the home team sitting one place outside of the top six and Leeds one place above the relegation zone at that time.

Now, the Yorkshire club are in fifth place on 48 points from 27 games, while their rivals are five points and three places above the drop zone.

Brazil’s men will be in for a difficult night as the promotion hopefuls have won their last five games at Elland Road without conceding a goal.

In other Leeds news, Forest caretaker manager Gary Brazil has shared his verdict on the clash.
