BBC pundit names Liverpool duo in TOTW, claims 26-year-old was 'priceless'

Garth Crooks has named Liverpool duo Joel Matip and Mohamed Salah in his team of the week following their performances against Burnley on the weekend.
The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw against Sean Dyche’s side at Anfield on Saturday afternoon but new recruit Salah, 25, produced a fine display and notched up his fifth goal of the season in all competitions.
Central defender Matip, 26, was also one of the standout performers on the day as he produced a goal-line clearance to deny Burnley’s Ben Mee in the second-half.
Writing on the BBC Sports website, Crooks was impressed with the pairing’s display on the weekend and but he expressed his concerns about Liverpool’s defence.
“Joel Matip is a very willing defender and without the Cameroon international’s exploits against Burnley, Liverpool would almost certainly have lost,” he wrote.

“His header off the line from a Ben Mee effort was priceless for the Reds.”
“I’ve expressed my views about Liverpool’s defence on a number of occasions and they were desperately lucky to survive this fixture.
“What a hit Mohamed Salah is turning out to be at Liverpool. A total of five goals in seven starts since his arrival at Anfield tells you that the Egypt international is enjoying his football on Merseyside.”
The result means that the Merseyside failed to register a win at home for the second time in a week following their midweek draw against Sevilla in the Champions League.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have only managed to win two of their opening five Premier League matches and they are currently sitting in seventh place in the league table.
The Reds have the opportunity to respond to the disappointing draw when they travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening.
In other Liverpool news, personal terms have been agreed as the Merseysiders finalise the signing of a big-name ace in January.
