Gary Lineker posts hilarious message about Liverpool ace after Man City win

By Amir Mir

Gary Lineker posted a hilarious Twitter message about Roberto Firmino after Liverpool beat Manchester City 1-0 at Anfield on Saturday evening.

Match of the Day host Lineker jokingly stated that the Brazilian was “nowhere near his best”, but “he might get another three points”.

This was in response to the 25-year-old attacker being charged with drink-driving earlier on in the week.

Nonetheless, Firmino played the full match against their title rivals as Jurgen Klopp’s side recorded a much-needed three points.

Georginio Wijnaldum scored a brilliant headed goal after just eight minutes to help his team close the gap on leaders Chelsea to six points.

After the game, former England striker Lineker delivered this message about Firmino as posted on his personal Twitter account.

Firmino has been in top form this season, scoring seven goals and providing six assists in all competitions.

His team are currently in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup where they will face Southampton and they are vying to be crowned champions of England for the first time in nearly three decades.

Former Borussia Dortmund manager Klopp has played a big part in that success with his playing style causing many problems on opposition teams.

The Merseyside outfit have won 13 out of their 19 league games this season as they are also the division’s highest scorers with 46 goals.

In other Liverpool news, former Reds striker Stan Collymore has provided a critical verdict on their win against Manchester City.
