Gary Lineker posts three-word Twitter verdict after Manchester United win against Tottenham
By Amir Mir
Gary Lineker stated on Twitter that Manchester United are a “decent, improving side” after their 1-0 victory over Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s first league goal for the club ensured Jose Mourinho’s side picked up all three points against their top four rivals at Old Trafford.
Armenian international Mkhitaryan rifled Andre Herrera’s through ball into the roof of the net in the first half to give his side the lead.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side battled throughout the game, but they were unable to find a way past United keeper David de Gea.
After the game, Match of the Day host Lineker posted his verdict on United’s performance on his personal Twitter account.

Think @ManUtd are a decent, improving side with good options. Definitely on the way back after a period in the post Fergie wilderness.

Tottenham remain in fifth place after the defeat in Manchester, but Mourinho’s side, who are one place below, have closed the gap on the north London club to three points.
United are 13 points behind leaders Chelsea in the Premier League table, after Antonio Conte’s side recorded a 1-o win against West Brom earlier on in the afternoon.
However, more realistically, they are six points off Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side in fourth, who were beaten 4-2 at Leicester City on Saturday evening.
Additionally, the Old Trafford club are now unbeaten in their last eight games in all competitions, last losing to Fenerbahçe in the Europa League in early November.
Spurs host relegation strugglers Hull on Wednesday night, with United travelling to London to take on Crystal Palace.
