Gary Lineker delivers one-word Twitter verdict on Liverpool display v Crystal Palace

By Amir Mir

Gary Lineker described Liverpool’s performance against Crystal Palace as “scrumptious” on Twitter as they scored three goals in the first-half.

Jurgen Klopp’s side won the Premier League encounter 4-2, as they stamped their authority on the title race once more.

Midfielder Emre Can opened the scoring for the visitors, thanks to a wonderful Moreno cross, but Dejan Lovren’s howler allowed James McArthur to equalise minutes later.

However, the centre-back redeemed himself by scoring on the other end three minutes later. Palace hit back again, with McArthur doubling his tally.

Then, centre-back Joel Matip rose the highest to nod home from a corner in an enthralling first-half of action.

Forward Roberto Firmino, made sure of the three points, when he dinked his shot over Palace keeper Steve Mandanda midway through the second-half.

Klopp’s men have now won eight of their last nine encounters in all competitions, as they bid to continue their winning form.

Additionally, that away win means, Liverpool are on 23 points after ten games, joint with Manchester City and Arsenal, who are first and second respectively.
