Gary Neville did something for the first time ever during Man City vs Liverpool – ‘sensational’
Manchester City sent out a statement to title rivals Arsenal with a sensational performance against Liverpool.
A dominant display from Pep Guardiola’s men saw Man City secure a 3-0 victory over Liverpool, thanks to goals from Erling Haaland, Nico Gonzalez, and Jeremy Doku.
The Cityzens outfought, outran and outclassed their opponents, with Doku producing a scintillating display on the left flank.
Doku was immense against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, and he continued terrorising defences on Sunday afternoon.
The 23-year-old was almost unplayable against Conor Bradley, utilising his electric pace and unique dribbling style, while firing an incredible curled finish into the top right corner.

Gary Neville gave Jeremy Doku Man of the Match early against Liverpool
Doku’s performances have gone up a level at Man City, combining his pace and directness with a ruthless end product.
Previously, the Belgian international has been criticised for his decision-making and poor final ball, but his improvement in the 2025/26 campaign has been immense.
Gary Neville was wowed by Doku’s display against Liverpool and was in no doubt that he deserved the Man of the Match award.
Speaking on commentary for Sky Sports, Neville handed the exciting winger the accolade in the 62nd minute, with almost half an hour remaining.
“It is dazzling from Doku!” he exclaimed. “I’ve never given the man-of-the-match award out after 62 minutes, but I think l will today. He has been sensational.”
Normally, a Man of the Match award is given from the 85th minute onwards, but Doku’s performance was that good, he had to give him it early.

Doku’s stats vs Liverpool
Now that Doku is producing a quality final ball to go with his sensational wing play, the Belgian has become arguably the Premier League’s most feared wingers.
Liverpool were on the receiving end of his devastating direct play at the Etihad Stadium, and his all-round statistics were just as impressive.
Jeremy Doku’s stats vs Liverpool
74 minutes played
1 goal
3 shots on target
3 key passes
4 fouls drawn
7/8 successful dribbles
11/14 ground duels won
Not only did he complete three key passes and draw four fouls, he also put himself about physically, winning 11 of his 14 ground duels and making four ball recoveries.
At this rate, Doku is one of few City players who can become immune to the famed Pep Roulette.
