Gary Neville makes Twitter claim about Tottenham first team duo

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has claimed on his Twitter that Tottenham have the best centre-back partnership in the Premier League.
The Sky Sports pundit was asked on social media who he thought was the best centre-back in England’s top-flight.
And he responded by saying that Spurs have the best two, which is very likely to mean the first team duo of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, who are widely regarded as two of the best central defenders in not only England but European football.
“Spurs have best CB pair,” Neville said on his personal Twitter account on Monday.

Spurs have been widely praised for the defensive sturdiness over the past couple of seasons with Alderweireld and Vertonghen playing a major part in it.
However Mauricio Pochettino may be forced into disbanding the solid duo in the summer transfer window after the Times reported that Alderweireld is likely to be offloaded after reaching a stalemate in talks over a new contract.
It is understood that the 28-year-old Belgian international is demanding £150,000-a-week in a new deal in North London, a fee that Spurs are unwilling to fork out.
He has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this season and has only recently started to return from a serious hamstring injury he picked up against Real Madrid in November.
Vertonghen, 30, has steered clear of any extended spells on the sidelines and played 35 times in all competitions, scoring one goal in the process.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs fans annihilated this £75,000-a-week player for his performance on Sunday despite winning against Crystal Palace.
