Gayle tipped to leave Newcastle and ‘absolutely dominate’ after source’s transfer update
Dwight Gayle will “absolutely dominate” if he leaves Newcastle to join a Championship side.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the out of favour Toon hitman.
A recruitment source told Football Insider (8 December) Middlesbrough and Stoke City have joined the race to sign Gayle, 32, in January.

He has made just three Premier League sub appearances this season and his total game time in all competitions amounts to 96 minutes.
Gayle sits firmly behind Callum Wilson in the pecking order at St James’ Park.
Wilson is the only other senior striker at the club and Kenny claims Gayle will only be allowed to leave once a replacement is signed.
“Gayle has served his time at Newcastle,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I think he wants out. He’s not getting a game and he’s in the last few years of being able to play at his best.
“I think a Championship move would be great for him. He absolutely dominates at that level.
“If he leaves, Newcastle only have Wilson. We all know what his injury record is like so Newcastle can’t rely on him.
“I think someone will have to come in before Gayle leaves, who that is, I don’t know.
“The world is your oyster when you are as rich as Newcastle but I don’t see them letting Gayle go unless another forward comes in.
“I’m certain the club would not stand in his way if he expressed a desire to leave.”

Gayle has made 117 appearances for Newcastle.
He has scored 34 goals with 23 of them coming during the club’s Championship-winning 2016-17 season.
In other news, it can be revealed that Newcastle United are well placed to agree mega-money commercial deal after “huge” development.
