German giants Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, according to a report.
French football site Foot Mercato claims that the former Champions League winners have made attempts to get in contact with the Scottish champions in the last few days to find out if the Frenchman is for sale.
As yet there is no information as to how the Hoops responded to these enquires.
The 21-year-old was the subject of plenty of speculation last season, with the Scottish Sun reporting that the Hoops turned down a bid of £12million for the player from English Premier League side Brighton in January.
Football Insider verdict
Would Celtic entertain any bids for Moussa Dembele? Well, the money would need to be right for a start. If Dortmund or any other club are serious about signing the striker, the bidding should start at at least £20million. Another factor that needs to be taken into account with any comings or goings from Parkhead this summer is the Champions League qualifiers, which begin in July. The Hoops would be loathe to sell one of their most important players when their fate in the money spinning contest has not yet been decided. Of course, it Dortmund or any other side bid around £25million for the Frenchman, you would imagine that the Hoops would have to accept the fee. But as yet no such bid has been made despite all the speculation. For the time being you would have to imagine that Dembele will be going nowhere, but if the money is right that situation could easily change.
