Gerrard handed Rangers transfer blow after £10m+ Ibrox reveal - Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Rangers to sell a “big player” this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward admitted a big sale would be “frustrating for Steven Gerrard”.
The Athletic’s Jordan Campbell reported on 8 July the Gers need to plug a £14million financial gap ahead of the new campaign.
It is suggested that could be done by player sales.
Since Gerrard took over at Ibrox in the summer of 2018 £40million has been invested in the playing squad.
However, their biggest sale in that period is the £1.5million deal with Sheffield Wednesday for Josh Windass.

Meanwhile, Celtic have secured big fees for Moussa Dembele, Keiran Tierney and Jeremie Frimpong in recent years.
Football Insider learned on 13 July they have now placed a £20million asking price on wantaway defender Kristoffer Ajer.
This site broke the news on 15 July Brentford are submitting a bid worth £12million plus £3million add-ons for Ajer.
And Agbonlahor has suggested Rangers may have to copy Celtic’s transfer strategy.
He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It’s hard to raise that money with fringe players.
“You look at the players and can they raise that money?
“If they’ve got that bill to pay they might have to sell one of their big players which will be frustrating for Steven Gerrard, I’m sure.
“But if you’ve got a bill to pay, you’ve got to find a way of paying it.”
Football Insider learned on 26 June the Gers have told FC Porto they value Alfredo Morelos at £13million.
The striker has two years left to run on his Ibrox contract.
In other news, things could “fall apart” at Rangers as Dave King speaks out.
