Gerrard-Morelos talks mooted by pundit amid 'disruptive' Rangers link with 'very big club'
Noel Whelan has questioned why Alfredo Morelos would want to leave Rangers amid fresh claims about his future.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, cited Champions League football as a reason the striker should stay at Ibrox.
On Friday (19th June) Portuguese outlet A Bola claimed Morelos’ agent has booked a trip to Porto.
It is claimed he will meet with club chiefs to find a “solution” to the Colombian’s immediate future.
Morelos, 25, has been consistently linked with moves away from Rangers since he moved to Ibrox in 2017.
The striker has two years left on his current Rangers deal and Whelan has questioned why he would want to leave the club.

“Why would he want to leave right now? That’s the problem,” Whelan told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs.
“Porto. that’s a very big club but Rangers have the Champions League now.
“It sounded like everyone was happy there and they wouldn’t have too much to do in selling players.
“I thought this summer would be all about strengthening after the success of last season.
“There has been lots of speculation around Morelos, he’s a player who’s coming off a great season.
“It’s a conversation to be had between Gerrard, the agent and Morelos to find out where his interest is and where his heart belongs.
“Gerrard doesn’t want any kind of disruption through that pre-season process, everyone has to be on board.”
Morelos has scored 94 goals in 182 games for the Light Blues.
He thrived in the Europa League last season, scoring three goals and assisting seven in 10 games.
