'Get Rid...like a disease' - Exclusive: Whelan slaughters Rangers player
Noel Whelan claims that the attitude of Alfredo Morelos is “like a disease” in the Rangers dressing room.
The former Aberdeen and Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, has ripped into the Colombia international and insists Steven Gerrard needs to get rid of him as soon as possible.
Speaking about the 24-year-old to BT Sport after Thursday’s defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, the Gers boss admitted that “everyone knows he’s had his head turned,” over a move away.

As previously revealed by Football Insider, Rangers are in advanced talks to sell the 24-year-old striker to Lille in a £17million deal.
Whelan believes that the striker’s attitude is having a big impact on the rest of the players at Ibrox and that he needs to be offloaded for the good of the side.
Whelan told Football Insider: “If a player is still contracted to a club and not putting in the effort, you’ve got to get rid of these players out the dressing room, it’s not good for the rest of the players that are there.

“I don’t think it will be a nice place to be with a player like that, I really don’t. I think already, last season, disrespecting the club, the players, the manager by not coming back on time, players don’t forget about these things.
“There can’t be one rule for one player who feels he can go and do what he wants and when they’re out there putting in 100 per cent and he’s drifting through a game and doing 70 per cent, people notice that and that’s the sort of thing you can’t be having in your dressing room.
“It’s like a disease, you’ve got to get that player out as quickly as possible and get someone in who wants to play for Rangers.”
Morelos started and played 77 minutes against Leverkusen on Thursday but struggled to have much of an impact up front.
He has scored just one goal in 2020 despite hitting the back of the net 28 times during the first half of last season.
