Gibbs-White to Tottenham takes new twist after medical hits hurdle
Morgan Gibbs-White has his heart set on joining Tottenham this summer after talks over a move away from Nottingham Forest.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have said about the 25-year-old’s future amid an ongoing tug-of-war over his signature.
The midfielder has returned to pre-season training with Nottingham Forest despite having been mentally set on becoming part of Thomas Frank’s squad.
Football Insider revealed on 18 July that Tottenham are still expected to sign Gibbs-White after he was supposed to undergo a medical at Spurs last week.
However, Forest accused Tottenham of making an illegal approach to Gibbs-White, having never given permission for the talks, and threatened to take legal action as a result.
As far as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are concerned, that deal is now off, but there is a growing feeling that the current protests are only delaying the inevitable.

Morgan Gibbs-White likely to join Tottenham as agreement reached
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 15 July that Gibbs-White is very likely to join Tottenham when the dust settles and a new agreement can be found.
Despite the ongoing delays surrounding the move, there is a feeling that the deal will still go through as “there is no going back” at this stage.
O’Rourke explained that the England international remains keen to join Spurs and is expecting an agreement to be reached in due course.
“There is no going back there,” he told Football Insider.
“Spurs have held talks with Gibbs-White, ready to activate that £60million release clause, and the player was ready to go and sign for Tottenham.
“He was due to take a medical last week, and then Forest obviously put these hurdles up.
“Gibbs-White has had to go back to Forest to continue pre-season training this week as well, when he thought in his head he was going to be a Spurs player.
“The player has his heart set on a move to Spurs, and we expect that will happen once an agreement is made between Forest and Tottenham.”

Crystal Palace respond to interest in Adam Wharton
The midfield has become a key area for Frank to strengthen this summer following his appointment, and Adam Wharton is the latest to be linked with that move.
Football Insider revealed on 19 July that Crystal Palace will demand £100million for Wharton in an attempt to deter interested clubs from making a move.
Oliver Glasner is determined to keep his best players at the club after last season’s FA Cup win, and will do everything in his power to keep Wharton.
This comes after Football Insider first revealed in February that Tottenham are interested in signing Wharton as he fits the profile of player they are aiming to bring into the squad.
