Gibbs-White’s ‘head turned as Man City come knocking’
Man City are eyeing up a move to sign Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of the summer transfer window.
This comes after Kevin de Bruyne announced he would be leaving the Etihad upon the expiry of his contract in June, leading to speculation about a replacement.
Football Insider revealed on 11 April that Man City are eyeing Gibbs-White as one of four players who could be signed to replace De Bruyne this summer.
Now, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider that the 25-year-old’s head could be turned by the opportunity to join City.
Gibbs-White is aiming to cement himself as a regular in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad, and could benefit from a move to the Etihad.

Nottingham Forest could sell Gibbs-White amid Man City interest
Robinson warned that Nuno Espirito Santo may be forced to sell Gibbs-White amid concerns about their financial situation as Forest could face new PSR issues.
The midfielder has been a key part of a successful season at the City Ground, but speculation about his future is expected to continue into the off-season.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson explained that interest from “one of the best teams in Europe” Man City will force Gibbs-White to consider the opportunity to make a move away from Forest.
“It’s only a matter of time before he’s a regular in the England squad,” he told Football Insider.
“His work rate off the ball, he never stops working, and in the position he plays he’d be a great signing for Manchester City.
“I could see a player like him fitting straight in at Man City.
“It’s going to be a tough one to do, especially if Forest get into the Champions League.
“I don’t think he’ll force a move, but it’s definitely a potential option when Man City are interested.
“Man City in recent times are a bigger club, they guarantee Champions League football almost every season and are competing at the top of the Premier League.
“If you get the opportunity, for a player like Gibbs-White, you put Man City in the bracket of one of the best teams in Europe.
“When a team like that comes knocking, they don’t come knocking very often, so if Man City are interested it’s certainly a head-turner for the player.”

Florian Wirtz update emerges after Kevin de Bruyne latest
Alongside their ambitions to sign Gibbs-White, City have identified a number of potential replacements for De Bruyne ahead of the transfer window.
Football Insider revealed on 11 April that Man City have identified four De Bruyne replacements including Phil Foden, Gibbs-White and Jamal Musiala.
However, Football Insider revealed in 19 April that Florian Wirtz is City’s number-one target amid a growing feeling he will be allowed to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
Guardiola views Wirtz as the “dream” signing, but sources say Bayern are the current front-runners and a deal could prove difficult for City to pull off.
