'Give this bhoy a start' - Celtic fans heap praise on 18-year-old after international heroics

Celtic fans on Twitter have heaped praise on teenage striker Jack Aitchison, after his two goals powered Scotland under-19s to a 2-0 win over the Netherlands.

The 18-year-old has been in fine form for the Hoops’ development side this season, and is looking to take the next step forward to the first-team for the Bhoys.

Aitchison revealed his delight at his good form for Scotland on his personal Twitter page, which was swamped with responses, with some fans even declaring that Brendan Rodgers should pick the player for the Hoops’ senior side.

“2-0 win v Holland – also nice to get 2 goals” he said.

Here are some of the best responses from Celtic fans on Twitter to Aitchison’s Tweet:

Aitchison hasn’t featured for the Hoops first-team this season, but he did manage to score three goals in the UEFA Youth League.

He made history in 2016 when he became the youngest Hoops goalscorer of all time, scoring as a 16-year-old against Motherwell in a 7-0 victory.

He made two appearances last season and he has a real chance of making a few appearances towards the end of this season if the Hoops clinch the league title.

As the player only has one year left on his contract after this season, next season could be a make-or-break one for Aitchison and his future with the Hoops.
