‘Another year of nutmegs’ - Leeds fans react to news of 32-year-old contract extension

Leeds United fans are delighted with the news that Spanish attacking midfielder Pablo Hernandez is staying at the club.

The official club website announced the news that the 32-year-old Spaniard will be staying with the Yorkshire until the end of the 2017/18 season as his contract was automatically renewed due to the amount of games he had played.

Hernandez has been an ever present in the Leeds team this season after he made a total of 38 appearances in all competitions and he has contributed with six goals from midfield in the Championship.

Leeds United fans were quick to take to social media and express their delight at the news that Hernandez will be playing for the club next season.

Leeds United finished in seventh position in the Championship table and they missed out on a playoff spot by five points.

Pablo Hernandez will be key in Leeds’ push for promotion next year as he is an experienced footballer who has also enjoyed a spell in the Premier League with Welsh side Swansea City.

The Spaniard spent two years with the Swans and he made a total of 57 Premier League appearances, scoring two goals and contributing with 13 assists.

In other Leeds news, the Whites have been made joint second favourites alongside Celtic to sign this England international.
