Goldson tipped for Rangers recall as image emerges - pundit
Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Connor Goldson to come straight back into the Rangers starting XI against Lyon.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Goldson should have no problem slotting back in at the heart of Rangers’ defence.
The 28-year-old missed the 2-1 win over St Johnstone as he was self-isolating.
It was the first Gers game he had not featured in since a Scottish Cup game against Stranraer in January 2020 and the first league game since the beginning of February 2019.
However, Steven Gerrard revealed in his pre-Lyon press conference today (September 15) that Goldson was back available.
He was then later pictured in training ahead of Thursday’s clash at Ibrox.

Gerrard will be without Filip Helander for the visit of Lyon after he underwent knee surgery meaning he will be missing until December.
“As a centre-half, you can definitely come back,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“That’s one position where you can throw them back in and it will be fine.
“He’s so important to the team. You want a defence that is used to playing alongside each other back together as soon as possible.
“With the number of games he’s played as well, he should be able to come back in.”
Goldson has played 171 times for Rangers since signing from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2018.
However, there is uncertainty over his long-term future with his current Ibrox contract set to expire next year.
