‘Gone tonight’ – Chelsea fans are all saying the same thing about Pochettino getting sacked
Many Chelsea fans have demanded that Mauricio Pochettino get sacked immediately after their “embarrassing” defeat to Wolves on Sunday afternoon (4 February).
Despite taking an early lead through Cole Palmer’s 19th-minute strike, the struggling Blues suffered a 4-2 loss to Gary O’Neil’s side at Stamford Bridge.
Wolves hit back to secure the win with a hattrick from Matheus Cunha and an Axel Disasis own goal, while Thiago Silva’s 86th-minute goal proved to only be a consolation strike.
Pressure has mounted on the Argentine amid Chelsea’s troubling form, with their latest defeat leaving them 11th in the Premier League table after spending a reported £448.5million in the summer.
The club have suffered major defeats under the management of the former Tottenham boss, including their 4-1 thrashing against Liverpool late last month, a 2-0 defeat to relegation-battling Everton and another loss to Wolves on Christmas Eve.
Fans have berated Pochettino for lacking an identifiable style of play and failing to get the best out of the swathe of expensive talent in the squad.
They have taken to social media to demand that he is not in the dugout for their next game, and some have even called for a sensational return of the out-of-work Jose Mourinho.
