Graham Roberts blown away by Tottenham defender after draw v Real Madrid
By Danny Wright
Graham Roberts has raved about Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez after Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
Sanchez, 21, signed for Spurs in the summer from Ajax but according to ex-player Roberts, he has fitted into Mauricio Pochettino’s side so well that he looks as though he has been playing for him for years.
The Colombia international has been ever-present for Tottenham since his record move from the Eredivise, making nine appearances across all competitions in a back-three alongside ex-Ajax defenders Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld.
Sanchez was again on form against Madrid on Tuesday in what was a well-earned point for the London club, leading to Roberts to show that he has been completely blown away by him on his personal Twitter account after the game.
“Have to just say again what a quality signing Sanchez is. 21-years-old, looks like he’s been playing for us for years. Strong, quick, mature,” he said on Wednesday morning.

After the draw in Madrid, Tottenham are joint top of Group H in the Champions League with Los Blancos, and more importantly are six points clear of third place, meaning that they have a very good chance of qualifying for the knock-out rounds.
Borussia Dortmund and APOEL Nicosia have lost to both Spurs and Real Madrid, and after enduring a stalemate with one another on Tuesday, both are well adrift of the two group leaders after three games played.
