Graham Roberts delivers verdict on Tottenham 23-year-old
By Dominic Toner
Graham Roberts has praised Tottenham defender Ben Davies after he signed a new contract with the club.
The 23-year-old pledged his long-term future to Spurs on Thursday by signing a deal which runs until the summer of 2021.
He has become the latest Spurs player to sign a new deal this season, with Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Hugo Lloris, Jan Vertonghen , Kyle Walker, Eric Dier, Danny Rose, Christian Eriksen and Kevin Wimmer also securing their futures at White Hart Lane.
Davies has been an important squad player this season and is the understudy to Danny Rose at left-back.
The Wales international is currently enjoying a good run in the starting XI, while team-mate Rose recovers from injury.

Davies has had to be patient for his opportunities in the first-team and has found it difficult to dislodge Rose.
However, he has still made 22 appearances across all competitions and is a trusted player under Maurico Pochettino.
The left-back moved to Spurs in 2014 from Swansea and has racked up 78 appearances for the north London club.
Davies will now be looking to secure more regular football and has shown he can fill in at either left-back or centre-back.
