Griffiths will be seething as Celtic star picture emerges in Glasgow - Hutton
Alan Hutton has claimed Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths would have been seething watching Scotland’s Euros clash with the Czech Republic from the stands.
The former Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the Hoops hitman, 30, should have been among the squad rather than in the stands.
In a picture posted by reporter Matt Critchley on Monday (14th June), Griffiths was in attendance at Hampden Park, Glasgow, for Monday’s 2-0 defeat.

Manager Steve Clarke started Lyndon Dykes up front, while Che Adams and Kevin Nisbet featured in the second half.
However, Hutton insisted Griffiths could have made a difference on the pitch instead of being stuck in the stands.
Asked if he thought Griffiths would be tearing his hair out watching Scotland waste so many chances, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “It was funny. I saw the camera pan around the stadium and he was sitting there watching.

“I’m pretty sure he’s got that feeling. I got asked the question would there be anything I would change within the squad. Leigh Griffiths for me is the only standout.
“Yes, he hasn’t had the best season but he can give you that bit of magic. He only normally needs one or two chances to score a goal. Whether it’s the last 10, 15 minutes of a game, you put him on.
“Nesbit’s a fantastic player and he’s done really well for Hibs this season but I just think Leigh’s done it on a big stage a lot of times. He’s had a lot of big moments and he’s come up trumps.
“I would have had him in the squad just for that fact. I would have said: ‘Look, you’re not going to start. However, there’s going to be times in this tournament I need you.’
“The Czech Republic game was one of those opportunities. You throw him on in the last 10, 15 minutes and I’m pretty sure one of those he’d have put in the net.”
Griffiths started nine times in 26 appearances for Celtic during the 2020/21 campaign.
He scored seven goals and contributed two assists across all competitions.
