Guillem Balague delivers verdict on Pedraza as he shares Leeds transfer latest
By Harvey Byrne
Spanish broadcaster Guillem Balague believes Villarreal winger Alfonso Pedraza would be a “clever signing” for Leeds this month.
Spanish news outlet AS claimed on Sunday evening that the 20-year-old is set to cut short his loan spell at CD Lugo to move to Elland Road until the end of the season.
It is said that there will also be an option for the Yorkshire giants to buy him on a permanent deal for £8.5million.
The young speedster is highly rated in Spain and much of the Spanish media have been highly complimentary of his talents.
One person he has also wowed has seemingly been Spanish transfer expert Balague, who also revealed Villarreal paid £250,000 to bring him back and send him to Yorkshire on a temporary deal.

“I hear he is going on loan,” told Balague to the Sky Sports website. “He was on loan at Lugo from Villarreal, who paid 300,000 euros to bring him back and then send him on loan to Leeds.
“He is fast, very good with his positioning and works hard without the ball. He is one of those players who loves one-on-ones, which you don’t see too often. He is quick, has ability and it is a clever signing for Leeds. If he adapts to life and football in the Championship he could be a very good addition.”
Pedraza has come up through the youth ranks of the La Liga side, making his debut in April 2015 as a substitute in a 0-0 draw against Valencia.
He has gone on to play a further four fixtures for the Villarreal first team before heading down to the second division with Lugo in the summer.
He has played in a total off 22 fixtures for the club, bringing a return of six goals and eight assists from the left-wing.
Garry Monk has been linked with a number of wingers this window and it seems like he has finally found someone who will likely replace Souleymane Doukara in the first team.
In other Leeds transfer news, the club also reportedly want this new winger.
