Hagi told to snub offer to quit Rangers as ‘important’ transfer lined up – pundit

Alan Hutton has suggested Ianis Hagi should snub the chance to leave Rangers to fulfil his potential at Ibrox.

The former Gers star, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 22-year-old has come on “leaps and bounds” under Gerrard.

As quoted by the Scottish Sun (5th October), former Romania international Marcel Raducanu needs to continue impressing at Ibrox to earn a “transfer to an important club”.

Rangers

Raducanu mooted either England or Italy as a potential destination for the Rangers playmaker.

Sport.ro reported in September Roma are looking to sign Hagi for around £17million (€20million) in January.

The Romania star has been a mainstay under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox.

As such, Hutton suggested the “young boy” should look to remain at Rangers to continue his development and reach the heights expected of him.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I think we need to remember he’s only 22. In my opinion, he’s only going to get better under the right guidance from wherever he’s at.

“All players can improve. You’re learning daily, he’s such a young boy learning his trade. Technically he’s got it all.

“That comes with experience and learning different tactics and different ways of playing so that will come through time.

“I think he’s come on leaps and bounds under Steven Gerrard at Rangers. For me, he’s only going to get better.

“He is flourishing there. I would obviously like to see him stay and play his best football there.”

Rangers

Able to play on either wing or through the middle, Hagi has made 68 appearances for Rangers and 21 for Romania.

He scored his first international goal in the 2-1 defeat to Germany during the current international break.
