'Hahaha, surely not' - Celtic fans react on Twitter to new favourite for Rangers job
Cetic fans on Twitter have been reacting with hilarity to the news that Steven Gerrard has become odds-on favourite to be the next manager of Rangers.
The Gers are most likely on the hunt for a new boss, with Graeme Murty expected to be relieved of his duties as boss at the end of the season, and Gerrard has all of sudden became the favourite.
The former Liverpool captain is 8/11 odds-on favourite with SkyBet, with Cardiff manager Neil Warnock currently the second favourite for the job.
Gerrard lacks the experience of first-team management, as he is currently managing the Liverpool academy side, and most Hoops fans don’t think he’ll end up at Ibrox.
One fan even claimed that he’ll only be at an Old Firm derby if he gets a ticket for the Celtic end.
Here are some of the best reactions to the news that Gerrard has become the huge favourite to take over at Ibrox:

Given the annual Lickspittle Season Ticket Hyperbole I'd have thought they may have chosen Buffon as Stevie Gerrard's goalie https://t.co/p5TDkDrbVL

The only way Steven Gerrard will be at Rangers next season is if Brendan Rodgers gets him a ticket for the Celtic end for the Glasgow derby https://t.co/864Usz6A3k

@ClydeSSB FAO Mark; Gerrard bringing Suarez to Ibrox as his first signing? They got on well after all! What about Gary Player as manager? Dave King was spotted with him too. No mention of takeover panel & court ruling – all is fine & Rangers rolling in it (or about to be) ha ha

Of course, if Gerrard took the Ibrox he would be in competition with Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers, and the pair know each other very well from Rodgers’ time as Liverpool boss, where he and Gerrard came agonisingly close to winning the league title.
Only time will tell if the bookmakers are correct, but it would certainly be a left-field choice by Gers owner Dave King if Gerrard became the new man at Ibrox.
