Hannibal Mejbri and Josh Cullen respond to new transfer announcement at Burnley

Burnley grabbed the attention of Hannibal Mejbri and Josh Cullen with a brand-new transfer announcement at Turf Moor.

Scott Parker‘s side gained automatic promotion straight back to the Premier League last season, winning 100 points, but missed out on the league title to Leeds United on goal difference.

Josh Brownhill, who is gaining interest from Everton and West Ham, was the key figure for the Clarets in their charge for promotion, but the 29-year-old has not renewed his contract with the club.

No other player came close to his 18 Championship goals at Turf Moor, with Zian Flemming bagging 12 and Jaidon Anthony notching eight, but deals have been done for Marcus Edwards and Loum Tchaouna.

Burnley announce Jacob Bruun Larsen signing

Taking to Instagram (11 July), the official account wrote: “We are delighted to confirm the signing of Jacob Bruun Larsen, who rejoins the club from VfB Stuttgart for an undisclosed fee.

“Welcome back, Jacob,” and the post earned likes from Connor Roberts, Cullen and Hannibal, with fans extremely excited about the Denmark international’s arrival.

Scott Parker prepares for Premier League relegation battle

Football Insider verdict

The Clarets have made some much-needed additions to the squad ahead of next season, with Axel Tuanzebe, Max Weiss, Quilindschy Hartman, and Bashir Humphreys all signing.

Next season is likely to be a very difficult one for the promoted teams, with Man United and Tottenham seriously struggling to climb the Premier League table last term.

Football Insider understands, however, that Newcastle United are set to offer close to £40million for James Trafford in order to get a deal done for the talented goalkeeper.

Weiss is likely to be a second goalkeeper for the Clarets, so if Parker’s side are to remain in the Premier League next season, a new, experienced shot-stopper will be needed this summer.

Losing Brownhill is also an enormous blow ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, having played such a vital role over the last few seasons, and no new signings so far are able to fill his boots.

Burnley face an incredibly difficult challenge in the Premier League, but with Parker’s defensive record last season, anything is possible for the Clarets.
