Hannibal Mejbri responds to Josh Brownhill’s Burnley message after Cardiff scare
Burnley ace Hannibal Mejbri has responded to his teammate Josh Brownhill after a crucial win in the race for promotion to the Premier League.
The Clarets conceded their first goal in 12 Championship games after beating Cardiff 2-1 on Tuesday (4 March).
Brownhill gave Burnley the lead in the 19th minute with a tidy first time finish, following a cross from former Man United midfielder Hannibal.
Maxime Esteve then doubled the Clarets’ lead in the 40th minute, after being set-up by Zian Flemming.
Man United target Marcus Edwards played a poor pass backwards, giving Yousef Salech the opportunity to pull one back for Cardiff, but Burnley were able to hang-on to close out the win.
Josh Brownhill marks 200th Burnley appearance with goal
Following the win against the Bluebirds, Brownhill posted a series of photos of himself in action, captioned: “3 points on the road. 200th appearance for this special club. Another goal to top it off. Thanks for the top clarets who travelled last night. We really appreciated your support.”
The former Preston man’s teammate, Hannibal, then responded to the post, saying: “JOYYY IS COMING !!!!” showing support to his captain.

The FA are expected to hold an inquiry into an allegation of racism made by the former Man United midfielder, against Preston striker Milutin Osmajic.

Burnley finally concede but close the gap to Sheffield United
Football Insider Verdict
JJ Watt, a co-owner of the Lancashire based side, will be able to breathe a sigh of relief, having seen his side concede against Cardiff.
The former NFL star had made a deal with James Trafford that if the Clarets avoided conceding for the rest of the season, he would come out of retirement to join the goalkeeper’s favourite team, the Cincinatti Bengals.
Watt may not be going back to the NFL, but Burnley, now two points behind Sheffield United, have their sights firmly set on a return to the top-flight.
Having struggled to score this season, a resolute defence has kept the Clarets in contention for promotion, in a similar fashion to Watt’s Houston Texan team during his heyday as an American Football superstar.
Scott Parker’s team will face Luton in their next game on Saturday (8 March), as the Englishman attempts to achieve promotion with Burnley, after doing so with Fulham and Bournemouth previously.
