Newcastle 24-year-old delivers Twitter verdict after triumphant return
By Danny Wright
Newcastle attacker Haris Vuckic took to Twitter on Monday night to express his delight after scoring a late winner for the Under-23 side.
The Slovenian – recently returned from his latest loan move at Bradford – scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion Under-23s on Monday.
Posting on his personal Twitter account, Vuckic said: “Good 90min against hard West Brom team. Happy to score #KeepWorkingHard.”
The 24-year-old scored after a West Brom team containing a number of first-team players failed to clear a corner in the dying moments of the game.
The likes of Boaz Myhill, Brendan Galloway and Hal Robson-Kanu started for the Baggies.
Vuckic has struggled to get first-team football for Newcastle since arriving in 2009 and has been sent on five different loan spells at Rotherham, Rangers, Wigan, Cardiff and Bradford.
His most recent loan move to Bradford ended in January and Vuckic remains at St. James’ Park with less than six months remaining on his contract.
Vuckic scored four goals in 14 games in all competitions at Valley Parade, however only one of those was scored in the league.
He has made a total of 19 first-team appearances for Newcastle, scoring just the one goal, but will be hoping he can catch the eye of Rafa Benitez from the development team.
