Harry Kane: This Tottenham fringe player grabbed his chance against Watford
By Dominic Toner
Harry Kane believes that Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier took his chance and was impressive in the win over Watford.
Spurs recorded a comfortable 4-1 away victory against Watford, with Kane and Dele Alli scoring a brace each.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino was without regular right-back Kyle Walker as he serves a one-game suspension and handed Trippier his first start in the Premier League this season.
The 26-year-old was an outlet on the Spurs right and combined twice with Kane to earn two assists.
Kane has hailed the performance of his team-mate and thinks he has reminded Pochettino of his talents.

“Every player wants to be playing but sometimes you have to be patient and wait for your chance and Kieran has taken it today,” Kane said, as quoted by the club’s official website. “He’s shown the manager what he can do, we’ve got great competition in the full-back places – right- and left-back – so it’ll give Trips the world of confidence.”
“Big thanks to Kieran – they were a couple of great balls in, the second one was a great delivery from him and I was happy to be in the right place at the right time and finish them off, but it was down to Trips,
Tripper has been on the fringes of the Spurs squad this season and has been behind on of the league’s best right-backs in Kyle Walker.
The defender has made just 27 appearances since he moved to White Hart Lane in 2015 from Burnley, but is a vital asset to the squad.
He has delivered strong performances when drafted into the Spurs squad and is set to play a vital role during the course of the season.
The right-back is likely to be dropped for the huge upcoming game against Chelsea, but will hope for more first-team opportunities in the near future.
