Eriksen shares why Tottenham are better than last season
By Emma Sanders
Christian Eriksen claims Tottenham are better this season because they can control the game more.
The Tottenham star insisted his side have always remained confident and there has only been doubts from supporters because they did not expect Spurs to be as good last season.
Eriksen claims everyone is now used to Spurs’ good performances so expectations are higher but in reality, Tottenham have improved their game management.
“I don’t think the confidence has ever been gone. I think it has been how people looked at it from the outside but nothing has really changed. It’s still the same players, the same style of play,” Eriksen told Sky Sports.
“Some of the games we have maybe been in even more control than last season. It’s just that last season was new, and now people know. I think our biggest strength is to control the game.”

Tottenham have been in good form in recent games and they kick-started the year with an impressive 4-1 thrashing over Watford on Sunday afternoon.
A brace each from Dele Alli and Harry Kane helped secure all three points at Vicarage Road and Mauricio Pochettino’s side have now moved back into a Champions League spot in the league table.
They currently sit in fourth spot, level on points with Manchester City but they still trail league leaders Chelsea by 10 points ahead of the clash on Wednesday evening.
The two teams will go head-to-head at White Hart Lane in the second derby of the season but Tottenham will be hoping to come away with all three points this time around after losing 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.
Tottenham also have a crucial clash against City on 21st January and after a busy festive period they might look to rest some players for the FA Cup third round tie against Aston Villa next week.
