The 21-year-old has raved about the ability of Wanyama and feels he has been excellent this season.
“Victor is obviously solid, he’s an absolute brute but he’s very, very good with the ball at his feet as well. He’s a fantastic player and he’s had a very good season since joining from Southampton,” Winks said, as quoted by the club’s official website.
Wanyama has managed to slot straight into the starting line-up and forced Eric Dier back into a defensive position, with the latter operating as the defensive midfielder last season.
The north London club are second in the Premier League table and there defence have played a major role in their success.
Wanyama will take huge credit for the solidity of the Spurs side as he is the glue in the centre of the park.
Defensive midfielders have become increasingly crucial in the modern era and while Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante is in the spotlight for his performances this season, powerhouse Wanyama can’t be too far behind.
