Harvey Barnes, Tino Livramento react to major Lewis Hall update at Newcastle
Harvey Barnes and Tino Livramento reacted to an update concerning Lewis Hall from Newcastle on social media.
Following a season on loan, Hall’s move to Newcastle was made permanent last summer for a fee of £28million plus £7m in add-ons [BBC Sport].
The young defender quickly made himself a crucial part of Eddie Howe‘s side, featuring 34 times in all competitions for the Magpies last term.
But after struggling through an ankle injury for much of the campaign, Hall was forced to undergo surgery, ruling him out of the latter half of last season.
Without his rampaging runs down the left side, Newcastle struggled at points last season and were fortunate to qualify for the Champions League after losing against Everton on the final day of the season.

Lewis Hall back in training for Newcastle
Hall likely would have spent this summer playing for the England Under-21s at the Euro U21 Championship, had he not suffered his injury.
The 20-year-old’s absence has been felt, with the U21 side using a variety of players out of position at left-back, including Jack Hinshelwood and Samuel Iling-Junior.
However, the good news is that Hall is back in training, and Newcastle shared two pictures of the defender on Instagram, captioned: “Back running on the training pitch. Lewis Hall has spent much of the summer working with the club’s medical staff at the training ground and this week he has been running outside, with the expectation being that he will resume light ball work over the next few days.”
The post was liked by fellow Magpies Livramento and Barnes, showing their support for the young defender.
Newcastle may look to sell before buying
Football Insider Verdict
Heading into the transfer window, Newcastle were expected to be freed from the shackles of the Premier League‘s profit and sustainability rules (PSR).
The club had been cautious in recent windows, after coming close to receiving a sanction last year.
But their lack of activity since the opening of this summer’s window may suggest that the finances are perhaps not as strong as some may have assumed.
The longer the window goes on, fewer options will be available for Newcastle as they get snapped up by rivals.
The Magpies may soon become tempted to cash in on Liverpool’s interest in Alexander Isak, or Aston Villa’s in Barnes, to give their summer business an infusion of life.
