Hazard delivers verdict on Tottenham in loss v Manchester United
By Danny Wright
Micky Hazard believes that Dele Alli should have put Tottenham ahead in their 1-0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Spurs fell to a late Anthony Martial goal in the second-versus-third clash, which saw United move three points clear of Mauricio Pochettino’s men in the table.
Alli missed a vital chance while the game was still goalless when he was put one-on-one with David De Gea after a delightful ball from playmaker Christian Eriksen.
Former Tottenham and Chelsea player Hazard has rued Alli’s miss as one of the turning points of the game, but is still expecting a response in midweek when Wembley plays host to Real Madrid in the Champions League.
“Great chance for Dele to take the lead but a very poor goal to give away, not at our best today and an average game, on to Madrid Wednesday,” he said on his personal Twitter account after the game.

Tottenham were without Harry Kane for the visit to Old Trafford and it’s likely that if the England international was fit then there would have been a different outcome, especially with the form he is in.
Pochettino admitted after the game that Kane may not be fit to face Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday as he faces more assessments before the clash.
Spurs are still third in the Premier League table after the loss to Man United and will remain there due to a decent cushion between them and the chasing pack.
In other Tottenham news, Toby Alderweireld made a questionable claim about Spurs following the defeat to West Ham in midweek.
