Hazard has a message for Tottenham fans after report details senior trio want to leave

By Amir Mir

Micky Hazard has told Tottenham fans not to “worry” after recent speculation surrounding the futures of Danny Rose, Kyle Walker and Eric Dier.

The Sun claims that the senior trio are eager to exit the North London club over worries that a move to Wembley will see Spurs fail to win any major honours in the near future.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have secured the runners-up spot in the Premier League in what is their final campaign at White Hart Lane.

The report details that right-back Walker is the most likely player to leave the club first as Manchester City are in pole position to sign him up.

But, club legend Hazard was quick to quash the rumours and dampen the fears of fans who were questioning whether their players will leave.

“It’s worrying for the fans,” a Tottenham supporter told Hazard on his personal Twitter account. “I know they cannot comment on speculation but I would like to see something from the chairman.”

“I wouldn’t worry about speculation, time will tell,” Hazard responded. “Players don’t want out, it’s just the paper being mischievous.”

The defensive trio of Rose, Walker and Dier have been key figures behind Tottenham’s rise in recent seasons which has seen them enter the Champions League.

Left-back Rose is currently on the sidelines with an injury, Walker has seen his game time reduced in recent weeks and Dier continues to play in various roles for Pochettino.

Spurs will temporarily move into Wembley next term before they move into new surroundings for start of the 2018/19 season.

Football Insider verdict:

It’s crunch time for Pochettino and Tottenham. This is where they need to keep hold of their key players and ensure their Premier League rivals don’t take away their talent. It is a crucial stage for the North London club, who are one season away from moving into their new stadium. Losing players at this stage could have huge bearings of what happens to Tottenham in the next five seasons. Keep them and it could result in the lifting their first Premier League trophy and first English crown in over 50 years.
