Hazard raves about Tottenham player after England win v Lithuania

By Danny Wright

Former Tottenham and Chelsea player Micky Hazard has raved about Harry Winks on Twitter after a solid international debut for England in Sunday’s win against Lithuania.

Winks, 21, impressed fans and pundits alike for his role in what was a relatively routine 1-0 win for England in their final competitive game before next summer’s World Cup in Russia.

Harry Kane scored the Three Lions’ only goal of the game with a spot-kick that was won by Dele Alli when he was fouled in the first-half.

However it was Winks who captured the attention of Hazard, who was thoroughly impressed with the young midfielder for the way he handled himself in Lithuania.

“Very pleased for Harry Winks and a good performance too,” he said on his personal Twitter account on Sunday.

Winks is yet to fully establish himself in Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team but his call up was no doubt deserved after a series of solid displays this season and last.

Towards the end of the 2016/17 campaign he suffered a season-ending injury which scuppered his progress slightly, but it seems he still has a big role to play for Spurs in the future having already make seven appearances across all competitions, including starts in wins against APOEL Nicosia and Huddersfield

Next up for Spurs is a home clash against Bournemouth at Wembley as Premier League action resumes this weekend.

In other Tottenham news, ex-Arsenal striker Ian Wright has made a huge claim about this Spurs ace after the England win on Sunday.
