‘One of the best’ – Clinton Morrison makes prediction about Aston Villa senior man

By Abigail Withey

Former Birmingham City forward Clinton Morrison has predicted Steve Bruce will be the man to turn Aston Villa around and guide them to success this season.

Villa are currently sat in ninth position in the Championship standings with 13 points and most recently secured a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Morrison worked under Bruce’s leadership at Birmingham from 2002 until 2005 and has hailed the Villa senior man as “one of the best” he has ever worked alongside.

“I worked with him when I was at Birmingham and Crystal Palace,” the player turned pundit said, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.

“He’s one of the best managers I’ve had, if not the best manager I’ve had.

“He’s brilliant, his man management and he’s so clever.

“He’ll be the one to turn Villa around, I think this season they’ll go on and do good things under him.”

So far this season, the Villains have won three matches, drawn four and lost only two out of their nine Championship fixtures and remain focused on pushing for promotion to the top flight.

The former Birmingham and Hull boss joined Aston Villa last October as Roberto Di Matteo’s successor and guided the club to a 13th place finish in the standings.

Bruce will want to ensure his side continue their six-match unbeaten run in the Championship as they travel to the Pirelli stadium to face Burton Albion in their tenth game of the season.

Their upcoming opponents are currently dramatically lower in the table and sit 10 places behind Villa in the standings on just nine points.
