Michael Brown has heralded Mateusz Klich as a “revelation” at Leeds United after Marcelo Bielsa’s rave review of the midfielder.
The former Leeds and Spurs midfielder, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, joked that the Argentine boss was being the “best agent” for the Polish star after speaking about him to the media.
As quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Bielsa claimed the 30-year-old could “play for any of the best teams in the world” and that it was luck he had him at his disposal at Elland Road.
The Poland international’s Leeds career looked dead and buried before the Argentine’s arrival but he has gone on to establish himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet since.
He maintained his remarkable starting record by making the XI for today’s Premier League clash against Everton.
Brown has lauded the midfielder’s impact under Bielsa and suggested he was one of the manager’s most trusted players at Elland Road.
Whelan told Football Insider: “That’s a big call that, isn’t it? He’s obviously doing the best agent’s job for him, Bielsa.
“If it doesn’t work out at Leeds United, he’s definitely got a move now, hasn’t he, with the big man saying that.
“Listen, he’s been a revelation, hasn’t he? He’s done really, really well. It’s been great, the step up, how they’ve stepped up to the Premier League, they’ve got these results.
“I think they’ve had a real balance in there so he obviously feels that he’s been the one who’s led it through and he’s got trust in him.”
“Klich for me is a player that can play in all the best teams in the world,” Bielsa told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“He is in Leeds by chance, it doesn’t have to do with the fact that I decided he continued at Leeds. All the praise should go to him and to Victor Orta who is the player who brought him here.”
