Rangers defender Connor Goldson joined his new team-mates on the training pitch as they were put through their paces in Spain – and Gers fans were delighted to see the summer signing get to work.

Goldson linked up with the rest of the squad after flying out to Andalusia seperately before taking part in his first session under Steven Gerrard with the Gers’ official Twitter account confirming the 25-year-old’s involvement.

The former Brighton and Shrewsbury completed his move to Ibrox last week after agreeing a four-year deal with the Light Blues and will almost certainly become an immediate mainstay in the Gers starting XI.

Gers fans were quick to welcome Goldson to their club, with many commenting on the defender’s size – with one saying “look at the size of those plates of meat.”
