Danny Mills has claimed that the Tottenham player who Liverpool “really fear” ahead of the Champions League is Harry Kane.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England international named Kane as the one Spurs star who will be seen as “scary” to Jurgen Klopp’s side for the final tonight (SATURDAY).
He also identified Son Heung-Min, Lucas Moura, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli as players who can crush Liverpool’s Champions League dreams for the second consecutive year.
Liverpool are the favourites ahead of the Madrid showdown after finishing 26 points above Tottenham in the recently-completed Premier League season and nailing a second final place in Europe’s elite competition in 12 months.
Asked to name the star men for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, Mills told Football Insider: “Harry Kane is scary to them, for definite. He’s the one Liverpool really fear, whether he starts, as he should, or comes on as a substitute.
“There is also Son [Heung-Min] with his pace, Lucas Moura with his pace, Christian Eriksen with his ability to pick a pass, and Dele Alli, who has been out of form but can make runs from deep into the box and score goals in big games.
“Liverpool will be happy if Kane is on the bench, as that tells them he is not fully fit, or in top condition.”
Kane has not played for nearly two months after damaging ankle ligaments.
He insisted earlier this week he is “ready to go” and fully recovered from his injury, and Mauricio Pochettino explained that the leading scorer is in contention to start the biggest match in Spurs’ history.
In other Spurs new, it can be REVEALED that the club have been hit by a transfer hammer blow.
