Highly-rated Rangers youngster named in SPFL team of the week

By John Reid

Rangers young centre-half Ross McCrorie has had his first goal for Rangers commemorated by being named in the SPFL team of the team.

McCrorie was named in the side this week, with his goal against Partick Thistle no doubt being a factor in the award.

McCrorie is the only current Rangers player in the side, but there are spots for former ‘Gers Kirk Broadfoot – who is now at Kilmarnock, and David Templeton – who is now at Hamilton Accies.

McCrorie has been a bright spot for Rangers this season, he hasn’t looked back after making his debut against Partick Thistle as a substitute and he acquitted himself well in his full first team debut against Celtic in September.

McCrorie has played in both of Graeme Murty’s games in charge of Rangers since he took over from the sacked Pedro Caixinha, and Rangers have won both games, as well as the 3-0 win over Partick Thistle they defeated Hearts 3-1 at Tynecastle.

Rangers’ next game takes place after the international break, with the ‘Gers at home to Hamilton Accies, in a game which McCrorie may well feature in.
