‘His numbers are exceptional’ – Leeds backed to sign Musialowski after source’s reveal

Leeds United’s January target Mateusz Musialowski would be a “fantastic” addition to the squad.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton hailed the young forward’s impressive numbers and versatility for Liverpool’s youth sides.

As revealed by Football Insider (22 January), the Whites have registered their interest in signing the Poland under-21 international amid interest from several second-tier sides.

Musialowski is yet to make a senior appearance in his career, but has notched 30 goals in 80 appearances for the Reds and can play a variety of attacking positions.

Hutton was excited at the prospect of the 20-year-old, whose contract expires in June, moving to Elland Road and claimed he would have the “freedom” to thrive under Daniel Farke immediately.

“He’s playing for Liverpool, so he’s obviously got something about him,” he told Football Insider.

“He’s not playing first-team football, but he’s really versatile, he can play across the front and his numbers for the youth ranks are exceptional.

“There’s an opportunity for him to take if he goes to Leeds.

“You’re giving him a platform to show us what he’s capable of.

“He has bags of potential, so a team like Leeds that are flying high and have lots of young talent playing there, it gives you that freedom.

“That’s the opportunity he needs and that he’ll be looking for.

“This could be a fantastic move for him and I think he’d do well at Leeds.”
