‘Hit the ground running’ - Kenny Miller blown away by one Rangers summer signing
By Derek Smithson
Kenny Miller believes that Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos has made a great start to his career at Ibrox as he has “hit the ground running”.
The 21-year-old moved to the Scottish giants in the summer and has become a firm favourite with fans after his blistering start in front of goal.
He has netted five goals in seven games across all competitions so far and appears to have cemented his position as the first-choice striker under manage Pedro Caixinha.
The Gers sold attacking duo Joe Garner and Martin Waghorn in the summer, but the Colombian appears to be an upgrade on them.
Miller has been playing alongside Morelos since his move to Ibrox and has hailed his “predatory instincts” as one of his main assets.

“He has started very well,” Miller told Sky Sports. ”Obviously for a forward coming to a new club, a new country, it was important that he got off to a flyer, hit the ground running to make him feel comfortable going into the games ahead.
“Scoring five goals in his first five or six games has been a great return and we can see the predatory instincts that he has got with the goals that he has scored and long may that continue. I think his game, his understanding his team-mates will only improve as the season goes on.
Morelos will be looking to build on his strong start after putting early demons to bed that he wouldn’t be prolific in Scotland.
The striker earned his move after an impressive season last year for Finnish top-flight club HJK Helsinki, where he scored 20 goals in just 25 matches.
He is still at the early stages of his career and the signs are that he is certainly capable in front of goal.
Morelos will be aiming to continue his goalscoring form at the weekend when Rangers host Dundee in the league, before a trip to Partick Thistle the following Friday.
In other Rangers news, Michael O’Halloran has launched a new attack on Caixinha.
