Sources: Huddersfield set to beat Sunderland to sign Wimbledon star Jack Rudoni
Huddersfield Town have agreed a deal for AFC Wimbledon star Jack Rudoni, sources have told Football Insider.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has caught the eye of several Championship clubs during this summer’s transfer window.
But Huddersfield look set to win the race for his signature and tie him down to a four-year deal after Wimbledon accepted an undisclosed fee.
Football Insider revealed last Tuesday (5 July) that the Terriers had competition for Rudoni from fellow second-tier sides Sunderland and Luton Town.
All three clubs had bids rejected before Wimbledon bowed to the West Yorkshire side’s latest offer.
Rudoni, who was relegated from League One with Wimbledon at the end of 2021-22, has now entered the final 12 months of his contract.

He found the net 12 times and supplied seven assists in all competitions despite Wimbledon’s struggles last term.
He will end his Dons career with 30 goal contributions in 106 games.
The youngster looks set to become Huddersfield’s fourth signing of the summer window.
Winger Connor Mahoney, centre-back Will Boyle and midfielder David Kasumu have joined from Milwall, Cheltenham and MK Dons respectively.
This site revealed on Thursday (14 July) that Nottingham Forest are working on a double deal to sign Huddersfield duo Lewis O’Brien and Harry Toffolo.
The Terriers are under new management in the form of Danny Schofield, who stepped up from his role with the development side to take charge after the departure of Carlos Corberan.
