Hudson-Odoi ‘likes’ Murillo’s Nottingham Forest message

Nottingham Forest defender Murillo provided an update for supporters amid rumours surrounding his future at the club.

Murillo enjoyed a standout season last term, playing a key role in Forest’s impressive campaign that saw them mount an unexpected push for Champions League qualification.

Although they ultimately finished seventh in the Premier League, securing a spot in the Europa Conference League, it marked a major milestone as Forest’s first return to European competition in 29 years.

However, their success has drawn attention from across Europe, and speculation is growing around the future of several key players. Anthony Elanga has already departed for Newcastle earlier in the window, and Murillo has attracted interest from heavyweights such as Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Despite the mounting speculation, Nottingham Forest are determined to keep hold of Murillo and have reportedly made the decision to resist any offers that come their way this summer.

Now, the Brazilian defender has offered an update to supporters, making it clear where his current focus lies as the squad continues preparations for the upcoming season.

Murillo provides training update amid Nottingham Forest exit speculation

As speculation continues to swirl around his future, Murillo has shown he remains fully focused on Nottingham Forest.

The Brazilian centre-back shared a glimpse into the team’s latest training session on Instagram, posting several images from pre-season preparations alongside a simple caption: “Pre-season”.

A number of teammates engaged with the post, including Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ola Aina who both liked it, while Jota Silva responded with heart emojis, highlighting the camaraderie within the squad.

The 23-year-old formed a solid partnership with Nikola Milenkovic at the heart of Nuno Espirito Santo’s defence last season. His standout performances earned him a nomination for the Premier League’s Fans’ Team of the Season and sparked interest from top clubs across Europe.

As Murillo signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract in January, Forest are in a strong position when it comes to negotiating any potential departure and remain firm in their stance that they do not wish to sell.

Nottingham Forest strengthen squad with Dan Ndoye arrival

While Murillo’s future remains uncertain, the club are pushing forward with new signings as they prepare for European football next season.

Nottingham Forest officially announced the arrival of Dan Ndoye on 31 July in a deal worth £34 million.

With Forest set to compete in the Europa Conference League, manager Nuno will be determined to hold onto his core players while also building a squad with the depth and quality needed for both domestic and European challenges, and Ndoye is expected to add significant value in that regard.
